If you are wine lover or you drink alcohol, try a little red wine twice a week may be a heart-healthy choice, doctor recommends. There are several heart-healthy compounds; resveratrol and catechins, two antioxidants in red wine. They may protect your artery walls. Sometimes alcohol can also boost HDL, the good cholesterol.

Be careful….Don’t drink a glass of wine in one day for women….and for men one to two drinks that would be better, or talk to your doctor first. We know that too much alcohol may cause many problems, especially people who’re taking aspirin and other medications. Alcohol actually hurts the heart!

Salmon is one of the best super food. It’s a top food for heart-healthy, due to it’s rich in the omega-3s; EPA and DHA. Experts say omega-3s may lower risk of rhythm disorders and reduce your blood pressure. There are two more health benefits of salmon, it also lowers blood triglycerides and reduces inflammation. Take two servings of salmon or other oily fish a week, The American Heart Association has recommended.

Healthy Tip:

Bake salmon in foil with herbs and veggies. Or toss extra cooked salmon in fish tacos and mixed salads.
